Mosswood Meadows Golf Course -- This is a great course
Review by: Chris The greens are kept in great shape and the tee boxes are bent grass and beautiful. The quality for the fee is excellent. A great mix of challenging and forgiving holes. The first hole is a straight away par 4 with a blind tee shot up a small rise. The second hole is a hard par 5 with a tee shot over water, a carry of about 200 yards from the blue tees. After getting over the water the water stays in play along this dog leg left hole. The green is small, crowned, and guarded with bunkers on all sides. A par is a good score. The third hole is a par 3, about 180, watch out for the wind if it is up. The fourth hole is a par 4 with a fairway that slopes right towards some trees and a bunker. The 5th hole is a par four dog leg left that has huge trees on the left blocking the corner. If you can draw the ball this hole is for you. Otherwise you are limited to an iron off the tee. The 6th hole is a tight par three with water on the right and trees and bunkers around the green. From the blues a 190 shot. The 7th hole is a par 4 over a creek which you can reach but not fly over with a drive of about 240. Play smart and hit two irons to the green. The 8th hole is a tough severe dog leg right par 5 with a tee shot through a chute stopping you from cutting anything off of the corner. This green is multiple levels and many slopes. The par 5's are the hardest holes on the course. The 9th hole is a par 4 dog leg left and a little downhill with a fairly narrow fairway in the landing area. After that play 9 again and you have a very satisfactory round of 18. If you are in the area give it a try. You will enjoy it.

Silo Ridge Golf & Country Club -- Worth the drive
Review by: JW I travel to Springfield twice a year from Nashville TN, once in the late fall early winter, once during the summer to visit the in-laws. I now look forward to the trip because of Silo Ridge Golf & County Club. This hidden jewel is very well maintained, and will challenge the scratch golfer and entice the 20+ handy capper. The opening nine is very forgiving; allowing amble time to hone your skills for the more demanding inward nine. Once your score card is full, then I recommend trying out the best cheese burger and fries I have every tasted in the club house grill. The course and the staff are first rate; well worth the price and the drive.
