Hillcrest Country Club -- *Beautiful and Challenging 9 Hole*
Review by: James Kurtzleben	Gorgeous established course that's very resonably priced. Holes, 4 & 5 are challenging. 4 has hidden water feature and 5 is a steep dog-leg with a drop off behind the hole. The holes are each hidden until you're half way down the fairway.

Glynn's Creek Golf Course -- *Great Value*
Review by: Todd Gutknecht	As an avid golfer I've played several public, semi-private and private courses around the country, and in all honesty I would rate Glynn's Creek a tremendous value. The scenery is beautiful with wild deer often visible during a round. For a public course the greens are manicured wonderfully. The staff has always been nothing but first rate whenever I've played there. You truly forget during the round that you are in a County Park and not at a private resort. The course is somewhat narrow and challenging. Lots of trees and few bailout locations. Keep it straight or bring some backup sleeves of golf balls. Otherwise, be prepared to have a lot of fun on one of Iowa's secret golf hideaways.

Emerald Lakes Golf Center
"The nicest 9 hole around"
Emerald Lakes is a fun little course that provides the basic golf experiance to the younger golfers in the Elk Grove area. The course has many hazards, including hole 5 which is as good as an island hole as you could get at any 9 hole course. The Course tends to be real hard in the summer and extremely wet during the winter. Give the grass at least 3 or 4 days to soak up water after a hard rain or you'll be chipping out of the mud on most holes. Overall, the course provides just enough amusement to keep the low end golfers happy, while aslo providing a great practice facility including a driving range, chipping green, and putting green. The bottom line, this is the best 9 hole course in the Elk Grove Area.

Chapel Hill Country Club
"HARD TO GET ON - GREAT TO PLAY"
Course is a traditional style designed by Gene Hamm and renovated by John LaFoy in 1999. This is the only private course in Chapel Hill. Walking is encouraged and it is a great way to experience the course. Signature hole IS NOT # 14. It's # 10 which can require carry over water twice. Pin on this hole makes 3 to 4 clubs difference on second shot. It's a beauty! Only one hole without bunkers - the par 3 9th is about 175 uphill from middle tees. Out of bounds on many of the holes as the fairways rise and fall through a very established traditional and exclusive neighborhood. Greens are all large (with at least 6 different zones on each one for pin placement)and have many contours. Three putts are common - especially in spring and fall when the bent grass surface is kept very fast. Bring your thinking cap, but also bring your game if your fun comes from scoring well. It's not an easy course, but it's not Jack Nicklaus difficult either.
