Poor mans Medinah is how a friend described this course, and he is basically correct. It is well taken care of and an absolute brute from the tips if you don't hit it straight. OB will kill you if the trees don't get you first. (there are many) The first hole is a short par 4 and the driver is best left in the bag. Hit something about 150 or so and you have any easy shot in. The second is a short par 3 over a pond to a small, well sloped green. The holes get more interesting from there. The two remaining par 3's (on the front 9) are 200+ yards, very challenging. The front also has back to back par 5's, the seccond of which is tough. The back is equally difficult finishing with a pond fronting the 17th green and an 18th fairway which slopes severly from left to right. If you're long, you can try to fly the trees on 18 and cut the corner, but it is definately risky. Nice course. |

I played this course after Lake county had been pummeled by rain for about a week. It had drained fairly well for what we had been getting. The front 9 the wind is your biggest factor. Wide open leaning towards a links style. When the wind was in your face it was straight on but on the holes when it was at your back it was always across the fairway L to R or vice versa. Back 9, wider fairways and less wind. Greens are very, very very tricky...read the putts in sections. Just when you get past the first big break in the green another little one will sneak up and send it the other. Good facilities, well maintained and good for the $. Only complaint is that no carts (due to the rain) even though there is cart path on 90% of the course. |

This land was bought by a developer and the course was closed a couple of years ago. I'm surprised you still show it listed. You should remove it from your course directory. This is not the only course listed in error. |
