Alling Memorial Golf Course -- *This course is bleh!*
Review by: Bill H.	Its short easy and boring to play, not kept in good shape and construction begins this summer, three holes at a time to rennovate. Local rules permit the making of your own lie anywhere all summer because the course is is a basen and all the water from rain funnels to the 4th 14th holes. Terrable design for Connecticut and way too easy to be a Westfield Jr. PGA qualifier course. A longer driver (270+) can drive the 5th, 8th, and 9th greens 5 approx. 200 yards and 8 + 9 about 300 yards (all par 4's). The back is a little more interesting but no harder, good scores are a given at this simple and easy par 72

Course at Yale, The -- *Great course*
Review by: RDB	Probably, apart from the 18th hole, one of the best courses I've ever played layout and course design-wise. This golf course, in good condition (which is currently the case), ranks among the best courses I have ever played. As a test of golf, from the back tees, it is a 10 out of 10. What a treat.

Review by: Anonymous	Well, it's a muni; can't expect great things. Don't play in the heat--no water coolers on the course. Dry and burnt out. Plus side is there's alot of work being done. About 2 or 3 years it should be a nice little place to play

Calabasas Golf & Country Club
"Excellent course"
This is an well-designed, well-maintained course nestled among hills and oak trees about an hour west of downtown Los Angeles. It is a Robert Trent Jones designed course, located on land that was previously Warner Ranch. Many movies were filmed on this location, and each hole is named after one of the movies filmed there. It is not long, but it is a challege. Narrow fairways, oak trees, water, fast and undulating greens. Very interesting holes and pin placements.

Oakmont Country Club
"Tough but Fair"
Oakmont is a picturesque layout in the foothills of Glendale with lovely mountain views. The course is an old-style country club layout which rewards well planned out shotmaking. The greens are usually very fast and reward players for being below the hole. The Pac-10 Conference Championship was held at Oakmont in 2003 and only two players broke par (288) in a field of 50. The players found the par 3's particularly challenging. The greens are very well protected with sand bunkers and the fairways are heavily tree-lined. Best time to play Oakmont is in the spring and fall. I find the twelfth hole to be the most challenging. It is a 420 yard par four, uphill and terraced. The green is long and narrow, two-tiered and protected by a large bunker on the right and a drop-off hill and trees on the left.

Wawonowin Country Club
"Hidden jewel"
This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Quick and true greens were very well maintained (How did they attract such a talented Superintendent). Very challenging holes that do not duplicate themselves. Laid back atmosphere--no pressures!
