Lake Waramaug Country Club

Featured Golf Course Review:
Lake Waramaug Country Club -- fabulous location...challenging
Review by: Anonymous this course is located in washington connecticut. it is located in the picturesque litchfield hills overlooking beautiful lake waramaug. the course is challenging yet interesting.it is nine holes but plays differently each time i have played. this is a "club in the country...not a country club" this club give you the feel of being in the adirondacks. the course sits high on a hill. i have played courses all over the country and have found this to be every bit as challenging as the larger more publicized courses.

H. Smith Richardson Golf Course -- Above Avg. Public Course
Review by: MT I have been playing this course for more than 10 years. The layout is a good one as there are options off the tee on 6 holes. It allows you to hit driver off all but 1 hole but a 3 iron or fairway wood will suffice on some. The greens are in decent shape as some trees have been cut down in the last two years to help with sunlight. The one disappointing feature are the bunkers. There is no uniform condition with some being terrific sand and others very sparse. The designs of the greens are challenging with many undulations and a predominant front to back slope. If these were kept very tight they would be a most difficult challenge, as is, they are difficult for most players.
