Born and raised on Thousand Oaks has allowed me to play this dandy of a course several times. They recently (in the past several years) upgraded the course to encompass more variety and did a marvelous job. A long course, with some hilly sections that will tire you out in the middle of your round if you do not have a cart. Pretty wide open, lots of oaks (obviously) and some water hazards to be aware of while driving. Overall a challenging public course. It loses one star only due to high traffic on the weekends and now I am in LA so the trek is kind of far. Definitely worth playing.
