Lone Oak Country Club -- *Great Greens. Long Par Fives*
Review by: RF	Visiting KY from Las Vegas in 03/04. Fairway, rough and greens in GREAT shape. Traps still need work after hard winter. Par 5s all play LONG with two carrying over water. A real challenging Par 3 (17th) plays 200yds-all carry. Nice course for a very reasonable price.

Review by: Bob L	I am a bogey golfer and this is a very good course for working on your short game or just for family fun. Plenty of hills, some water, good variety of holes. Beautiful setting just outside of Lexington.

"Great course for juniors!"
This is a fabulous course for young juniors to learn on! I took my 2 nephews there, and they had a great time! Several holes have river views. Nice little driving range too!

This heavily-used public course is in very good condition all year thanks to a dedicated grounds crew. Good drainage makes it playable in the winter, too.

Champion Hills Golf Club
"Champion Hills - great place to play or to live"
The course is spectacular, both in scenery and in the variety of play that can be had -- from novice to expert. Tom Fasio did a great job, using natural elements beautifully. Watch out for the 4" rough! It is lush and can eat your balls so magically that they can NOT be found. Course management is excellent. Hazards are well maintained as are the fairways and greens. Most of the T-boxes are elevated and the views in the valleys include small waterfalls, hardwoods, mountain laurel and rhododendron covered hills with mountain vistas all around. The clubhouse offers wonderful sunsets and terrific food. Excellent additional amenities like a health club, tennis, practice areas. VERY nice bungalos for lease, nearby B&B, charming small town. Close to Asheville, Biltmore House, Grandfather Mountain, Greenville/Spartanburg airport, Appalachian Trail... We really love this area and this particular course.
