Eaglewood Golf Course -- *Get a cart! No really.. you will need one.*
Review by: Darren G.	This course is high up in the North Salt Lake mountains, and it shows! More elevation change than a roller coaster ride. The back 9 holes are: #10 is level with water on the left. #11-14 are all down hill some of which you cant even remotely see the green over the dropping elevation. #15-18 are all up hill making your long drive look like a 5 wood. The last 8 holes cut through residential areas so hitting houses is a definate possability (Be carefull.. I have been yelled at more than once). This is a great course and a 'must play' if you are visiting this area.

Calabasas Golf & Country Club
"Excellent course"
This is an well-designed, well-maintained course nestled among hills and oak trees about an hour west of downtown Los Angeles. It is a Robert Trent Jones designed course, located on land that was previously Warner Ranch. Many movies were filmed on this location, and each hole is named after one of the movies filmed there. It is not long, but it is a challege. Narrow fairways, oak trees, water, fast and undulating greens. Very interesting holes and pin placements.

Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course
"This course helped my game!"
With it's many doglegs and elevation changes, this course will quickly teach the beginners how to setup their approaches, while giving the lower handicap players a reasonably challenging round. 5 of the first nine pins cannot be seen from the tees. If you spray your tee shots, you will surely be struggling to make par. The par threes are deceiving with two short downhills, and two 150-ish up hills. These have been my achilles heel. There are not to many water hazzards, but they are well/poorly place depending on your tendancies. They can easily swallow your ball if your not carefull. The traps are typically limited to wrapping the greens, but watch out for the 5th hole, with its deceiving horizontal sand at 230 yards out. The grounds are well kept with mid speed greens that exactly match the practice green. Prepare for an even mix of wide and narrow fairways, and many misleading doglegs, both slight and sharp. This course has made me a better golfer, and I can't say that about many. Enjoy!

Cardinal Creek Golf Club

A course perhaps more friendly for the long-ball hitter with more than enough water and some deviously placed sand. Access to the course requires a military affiliation or a friend who can host your play but, well worth the trip. Given its location (on base), play is seldom hampered by a crowded course which also makes it a most hospitable course for the slower player, the short ball hitter or those just learning the game. The placement of water (ponds and streams) makes for an interesting attack plan and invites disaster for the reckless. Improved traps, general landscaping and more attention to tee boxes and greens over the past two seasons has made the course much more enjoyable. The first six holes are a low rolling layout with a lot of trees in play along the fairways. The rest of the course is basically flat with several holes playing parallel to the runway and an occasional aircraft take-off or landing adding to the view. Course amenities are well maintained. Walk, pull a cart or ride in a relatively new electric cart. The golf carts are in great shape and an adjacent driving range is a plus for tuning up before hitting off of the first tee. The clubhouse has a small grill for lunch with a comfortable seating area for a beer after the game. The pro shop is equipped to handle most needs.
