Rock Creek Country Club -- Good Course, Great Value
Review by: Joe Played this course twice while in Wilkesboro, once in July and again in November. The course plays short but shot selection is key. Conditions are great around greens, and the fairways, elevation changes, and occasional creeks give you that natural North Carolina Golfing feel. The best part was I played 18 holes and a cart for $14. It's hard to beat for the money.

Winding Creek Golf Club -- Worst course in area?
Review by: Ronnie G I wish I liked the course because I live only a few miles away. The greens are uneven and unpredictable. The fairways are in terrible shape and a bad tee shot may find you looking for your ball in an area where trash has come to the surface. The fairways can be muddy and slick at times. It looks like a former landfill posing as a Golf Course! Oh wait it is! The pin placements can make it a very difficult course. For example the pin may be placed on the far end of an uphill green with a steep drop off behind which may lead to a trash pile. The rough on several holes lends new meaning to "rough" Forget walking it. Has a nice club house and friendly staff.
