Monroe Golf & Country Club -- *Great value for a Fun Course*
Review by: Betsy	I grew up playing at the Monroe G & CC, and since I've moved to Altanta, I can't say that I've played anywhere much better as far as the condition of the course and the level of challenge. Monroe G & CC offers a fantastic value for those who would liket to play at the more expensive courses in Atlanta, but find the cost prohibitive. Monroe is located about 50 NE of downtown ATL. It's out in the country, but I think that makes for better scenery.

Bent Creek Country Club
"Exquisite Conditioning"
I was a member at Bent Creek for ten years until moving to South Carolina. Day in and day out, compared with top caliber courses, this is probably the best conditioned course in the Mid-Atlantic area. Tees, fairways, and greens are bent grass, as are the practice tees and even one of the two practice ranges. The course is more difficult than its slope and course rating indicate, with very difficult holes at the start, especially from the back tees. It is a great course for average players from the regular men's tees, and a fantastic test for better players from the back. An under-par score from the back tees is exceptional.

Mayfair Country Club
"Nastalgic Ross Course"
The Mayfair course brings us back to a time where the longest hitters on the PGA only drove the ball 250 yards. This means that for the majority of men today, you can play this course like the pro's play their championship 7200 yard courses. A good tee shot leaves you with a 7 to 9 iron approach. The signiture Donald Ross Turtle back greens are high and sloped and need to be navagated with thought. The open fairways mean that for the average golfer that is in the fringe or ruff you can still play on without haveing to take too many penality strokes like you do on some narrow house lined courses. In short, this course is beautiful with its tree lined fairways and a good challenge for the average golfer. If money value for course were a catagory this would be a five star.

Mistwood Golf Course
"We're not in "Chicago" anymore!"
I play alot of high-end golf courses and this was as fun as I have had for the price I paid. The layout was very memorable and fun to play. The greens were lightning fast and is comparable to many great country club greens. I played horrible there but I enjoyed the experience. The staff was very polite and friendly from the time I got out of my car to when I had a conversation with the Chef who cooked me my steak the way I wanted it. See you in 2004!
