This is one of the most fantastic short courses I have played in a long time. The changes made in the past few years have really made the most out of the space the course has to work with. The holes that resemble the ones from the old course are improved, and the brand new holes make the course much more challenging. The staff is spectacular, in particular the head professional. He did an excellent job organizing our outing. We will definitely be back in the future. |

| Shoop Park Golf Course -- "If I only lived closer" |

When I was younger, and my dad was still around..
he told me about one of the oldest courses in Wisconsin; that being, Shoop Park.. Now my dad was Scotch/Irish and loved playing the "Highlands" kind of golf and even though the grass isn't reedlike and there are next to no bunkers or even that big a threat of water here; I found Shoop to be an interesting 9.. It has a number of holes that offer sidehill lies ...It also has 2 holes that give you a nice view of Wind Point and the green at hole #2 is at the very base of the lighthouse...OH, did I mention that the Wind Point lighthouse is ON Lake Michigan?? Anyway..
to make a long story short..I played it; some 25 years after my fathers' passing and found that for what you pay to play here, it's worth a 2nd & 3rd look .. I'd play it alot more often ...If only I lived closer. |
