Elk Run Golf Club -- *Excellent mid hdcp course*
Review by: Larry Samples	I am a 10 hdcp. I find Elk Run to be a bit on the short side. Too many driver-wedge holes. However, I love practicing here. It's quiet and beautiful. Each hole has it's own seperate look. I hate back and forth golf, another reason I enjoy Elk Run so much. Excellent value and great staff. If you're looking for a course to make you feel good about the game, this is it.

Hyde Park Golf Club
"Wide Open Drive"
Fairly well kept course, the fairways are wide open for the most psrt, so if you lose your new Titlest, its your fault...There are a few water hazards in challengable spots. Bunkers are all easily avoidable. This is actually a challenging course, but one that wont drive you nuts with every stroke. Its also a pretty good course for those who arent, Arnold Palmer. You have to know your game, but it allows for mistakes, without costing you 3 strokes. The trees are beautiful, and the wildlife around the course adds to the experience. Its nice to find a place like this tucked among the city, and tall radio towers, which are right in the middle of the course, between holes nine and ten, which is the primary problem spot for this course. Its priced right, and a good challenge for the money.

Tanglewood Country Club
"Real Golf"
This is a true golf course. Accuracy and distance is at a premium. There are no easy holes and you cant "run it up" to any of the greens. It is also a fair course. The greens neef to be a little faster and the traps need more sand but the layout is as good as anywhere in town...public or private.

This is a scenic and challenging course that teases your brain and your ability. Strategic planning before each shot is a must. Perfect condition, great greens and really great scenery.

Winter Springs Golf Club
"Winter Springs Wetlands"
This course is challenging because your lie had better be in the fairway or you'll most likely be looking for it in some form of casual water or very thick rough. The fairways were either overly-tight, negelected, outright wet, or all three. The greens are a muddy, slow-medium to slow speed with only a fair amount of undulation. The par 3 greens are almost all too large and too flat to be much fun. I've played WPGC twice and didn't really enjoy the experience because of all the standing water in the rough and on the fairways. I'm rating the course at 2 stars only because they have reliable and frequent refreshment cart service.
