Ocean Hammock Golf Club - Course -- May 2004
Review by: Dennis Fee
Course is in very good condition but to say that you can see the ocean on 6 to 8 holes in really not true due to the small palms that grow along the ocean.I have an index of 8.2 and shot an 81 in a strong wind. The wind makes the course difficult and is is always windy on the ocean

Ocean Hammock Golf Club - Course -- A great golf experience
Review by: rcf
Ocean Hammock is truly a fine golf experience. This Jack Nicklaus design is dubbed by some as the “Pebble Beach of the East”, based on the fact that it is situated on the Atlantic Ocean. To be sure, this course does not have the scenic quality of a Pebble Beach. Notwithstanding this, Ocean Hammock is a fantastic, beautiful course in its own right. The course is maintained in immaculate condition. It offers a blend of in-land and sea-side holes with dunes, water hazzards and bunkers that provide a real test for your golf game. The wind is almost always a factor on this course, and on blustery days a strong North East wind can make 18 play like a 500 yard par four. If you have some game this course can be tamed. I recommend this course for 15 handicap players and under. I also recommend staying at the lodge for the complete experience. Ask for room 9, which has two balconies that provide a view of the 18th green and the Atlantic Ocean. |
