Featured Golf Course Review:
Palmer Golf Course -- Fairly nice course with great views
Review by: Ken
A relatively straight and flat 18 hole course.
The only true hazards are the Matanuska River,
whose valley forms a lateral hazard along a few
of the holes, a fence line for the local airport
on a few holes, and some seasonal ponds. By
midsummer, the ponds have dried up and you are
left with grassy depressions. Still a place to
avoid, but not nearly as imposing without the
water. Several of the greens are guarded by
bunkers, but they are not very deep. The course
tends to be well kept, but expect a few bare
spots early in the season.

Eagleglen Golf Course -- Great time
Review by: Torgeir
As a life long Alaskan, I recommned this course to anyone who wants to enjoy a beutiful setting and is not afraid of water. The creek on the back side comes into play on4 of the last five holes, making this one of the best and pictureque finishes. You can see a variety of wildlife on this course, with eaglesnest along the 18th hole and often a fox running in the rough. Moose are often an added pleasure of this course. The lay out includes 5 par 5's and the same amount of par 3's. Enjoy an afternoon or and evening at Eagleglen. |
