Willow Lakes Golf Course -- Me
Review by: Me This is one of the finest public courses in Omaha. The only thing that holds it back from 5 stars, is the condition of the sand traps. They take quite a bit of getting used to. The course itself is a definite challenge, forcing you to use almost every club in the bag. Ball position on the greens is key, they can be very slick, and punishing if you are above the hole. Most of the par 5's are reachable in 2, depending on the wind. It can get pretty windy in Nebraska, and the wind definitely comes into play. The rough can get fairly tall, and is pretty thick. Water comes into play on 10 holes, and is very well placed. The front 9 plays slightly harder than the back. The back has 3 par 3's, and 3 par 5's. Holes 15 and 16 are back-to-back par 3's and can easily make or break a round. The staff is very friendly, and it is very easy to get out as a single, or to reserve a tee time. If you are in the Omaha area, make it a point to visit Willow Lakes. This is easily one of the top 3 public courses in Omaha, and you can't beat the price!!!!
