It was the worst golf experience of my life. The holes were not numbered, and the greens as well as fairways were dead. The staff gave us a hard time like it was a private member course in tip top shape. Not a single water cooler on the course, got to the ninth and no refreshment stand. Inquired after 18 as to where a vending or soda machine could be located since they didn't offer anything and they replied with there is not one on the premises! |

Among the golf courses whose greens fees are in the lower tier, Lenape Heights is one of the nicest. The layout is quite interesting -- each hole has its "own look," and challenges abound. If there is a single downside to the course, it is the fact that you will have to take quite a few blind shots; you have to keep checking on the group ahead to make sure you have a clear shot. Conditioning is generally quite good, although I feel that both the fairways and the rough tend to be cut fairly long (especially the rough). The hilly terrain makes for a difficult walk. If you aren't in great shape, better get a cart. I gave the course a 3 out of 5, but it really is much better than average. |
