Review by: Fred Hill Rolling terrain, trees and small fast greens with plenty of break make this course much harder than its' scorecard length indicates. The par 3 number 1 hole plays 167 yards uphill to a fast left to right sloping green. From the second tee box it plays as a tough 195 yards for the 10th hole. Number 2/11 plays an even 300 yards from the blue tees, but watch out for OB on the left and trees on the right. The front of the green is lined with bunkers. Number 3 is a teardrop par 3 at 89 yards demanding an accurate wedge because of front bunkers and big trouble behind the green. A second green and set of tees plays this hole at 116 yards as number 12. Number 5/14 plays at 310 from the blues, with another demanding second shot to a fast shallow green with a dip in front and bunker trouble at the rear. Number 7/16 plays a long 410 from the blues because of a large swale in the tee shot landing area for the average player. Two good finishing holes will challenge even scratch players. On the par 5, 510 yard 8th an inaccurate second shot will find big trouble on the left side of the green. For a real challenge play it as number 17, at 522 yards, which has a second set of tees, and plays as a double dogleg left to a second green tucked into a narrow chute of trees. Number 9/18 is a sharp 340 yard dogleg left with a big left to right sloping fairway and green. Big hitters can try cutting the dogleg off but often get caught by trees guarding the corner. The challenge of this hole is not over until the ball is in the cup as three putts are common on this fast green with big breaks if the approach shot is not close.
