Rolling Hills Country Club -- *Best course in Wichita city limits*
Review by: Gary Martin	This is a course I would never get tired of playing. Zoyzia fairways & bent grass greens. This is a course that looks like a park, beautiful flowers and plantings. Ths staff were great. The head pro, Mr Farquahar is ranked as the best teaching pro in his section by his peers and I would agree. They say the spring is the most beautiful with all the flowering trees. I plan to join soon.

Carolina Golf & Country Club
"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. The course is decent in upkeep, not the greatest greens but a nice and challenging course at times with greens protected by bunkers in touch positions. Course management is a little on the off side, they have no control over how many are on the course, and will load it up way past capacity, as well as never using any marshalling to speed up play. Weekdays are good times to play because of the lessened Traffic
