Review by: George S	I will be going back to Roll Hills because THEY DO give discounts to seniors. I find it refreshing. I like the pros and/or staff as they are responsive. It would be nice if they had a marshall with all the wild young people out goofing around---drinking. I like the people I've met, nice location for me. I'm going back.

Willow Springs Country Club
"Scottish track with many nuances"
I am a member at Willow Springs. Although not the longest of courses, it will teach you all the shots you need to know. The course is always in playable condition and is a challenge for all golfers, I myself being a scratch golfer.

"Classic Donald Ross"
This course is short in yardage (6200), but plays much longer. One reason is that there are only 2 par 5's on a par 70 track. The par 3's are classic Ross. 3 of the 4 can play over 190 yards to postage stamp greens. There are a lot of down and up style par 4's, but there is also variety. Holes 10,11 and 18 are good examples of tough, well thought out par 4's that demand accuracy and thought. A four is an excellent score on all of these holes. The course is generally in excellent condition and has undergone some minor renovations. You will notice that the greens are exceptionally small, even for a Ross course. Greens are properly protected with bunkers and have just the right amount of undulation. One designer has stated that these are the smallest greens he has ever seen on a Ross course (which may be its claim of distinction among the many Ross courses). There is a premium on iron play and short game. Greens are quick, but not penal. Everyone thinks they can bring this course to its knees, but it usually is the other way around. The course can frustrate you if you expect too much too easily. This is what makes it such a wonderful place to experience the brilliance of Donald Ross. This course requires all the clubs in your bag yet does not require a 300 yard drive to play. Would recomment it to anyone for an enjoyable round of golf
