Many changes have been made over the last five years to improve the course.
Landscaping and good general upkeep turned what was a goat ranch into a playable gem. While there are still many rough spots, such as the rock quarry on the back nine that should have been covered or filled with water by now, the course shows promise of good things to come in the future. The course layout makes up for the larger flaws. Beautiful Hill Country scenery adds to the enjoyment of playing, and being so far removed from the larger cities, I have never found the course anywhere near crowded.
I play Whitney 3-5 times a year while on business trips through the area, and can honestly recommend it to others. At $20.00 to $25.00 cart and green fee (compared to Whitebluff at $75.00 just down the road), it's a great deal.
