Quail Run Golf Links -- Not your average 9-hole course
Review by: Mike Carpenter It may only be a short 9-hole course, but is very scenic, if you don't mind climbing and battling some hills. There are enough doglegs, trees and hills to be fairly challenging to the average golfer. Don't hook on #9 or you will hit the clubhouse!

Hayward National Golf Club -- Well worth playing
Review by: RT The general review in the first page is quite accurate in that the front 9 seems to be carved through a pine forest. When standing on the tee of #3 you think you are in a postcard setting with the pines framing your shot. Very beautiful. The fairways for the most part are fairly generous, but the pines will catch an errant shot. Go find your ball, smell the pines (worth the experience alone), and chip out. Heroics out of the pines can spell a large number as they have a way of keeping your ball among them. The back nine seems to be at times a different course. It is much more open, not as pretty, but yet still challenging. There are a number of forced carry's over swampy wastelands and some of the tees are offset from the fairways to play mind games with your drives. Every time I go to Hayward, I play this course.
