Hunter Country Club -- Can you say dog track
Review by: RT Unfortunately the review system on this site will not allow lower than a one star rating. I can usually find something nice to say about almost any course, unfortunately, not here. This is truly a dog track. I had not played it in probably 10 years prior and knew it was bad back then only to discover that it was not only still bad, it was worse. I am not sure if the fairways are crab grass or weeds and the greens are like shag carpeting. Do yourself a favor, go 15 minutes away and play somewhere else.

Gibson Woods Golf Course -- Great public course
Review by: jdb Gibson Woods is a challenging public golf course in Monmouth, IL. It is a mature course that challenges the golfer to play the fairway on most holes. The course features lots of trees, some water, and some elevated greens. The course favors the accurate golfer more than the long ball hitter. Although an accurate long ball hitter will consistently score well here. The course is very well maintained, has a driving range, and is generally only crowded on weekends.
