Wayne Public Golf Course -- I like the front nine, but the back nine is bizarre
Review by: Steve Cobb Wayne is a convenient low-key in-town course where you can usually play on short notice Monday to Thursday. It's a good place for a casual round with your working class buddies. The front nine is a nice test. The par 3s are all good holes, two are long and the third is from elevation. The par 4s are short but the river and/or OB is in play on all of them, and the terrain and obstacles are varied. The par 5 is really a long par 4, but it's great fun since you often get a realistic chance at eagle. The back 9 is very short and very bizarre. #12 and #17 are stategically interesting in that there are two ways to play them. Otherwise, there's not much to recommend. Personally, I usually skip the back.

" The toughest opponent of all is Old Man Par. He's a patient soul who never shoots a birdie and never incurs a bogey. And if you would travel the long road with him, you must be patient, too. -- Bobby Tyre Jones "
