Featured Golf Course Review:
| Valley Brook Golf Club -- Valley Brook |
| Review by: Elaine Felhandler |
Renovated course is short, but not as easy as it might seem. Although flat, every hole has its own character with water coming into direct play on 5 holes, and a meandering creek possibly causing problems on several more. Shot making is a must. Greens were in good condition in 2003, although the course suffered from the overabundance in moisture. The new clubhouse is pleasant and the staff is very friendly. |

| River Vale Country Club -- Great "old style" course |
| Review by: Red Sox fan |
This is an old style course. Hilly and challenging. You must keep it in play to score well. Usually very well maintained. You get the feeling of a Tillinghast type layout. Talk is that they might bulldoze 1/2 or all of this course and build homes here. They paved paridise and put up a parking lot. |

| Valley Brook Golf Club -- Not as easy as the yardage indicates... |
| Review by: 8 Handicap |
Don't be afraid of playing the back tees, its only 6,100 yards off them and you'll experience the course the way it was meant to be played. You need to be able to have a decent idea of where your drives are headed to enjoy this course, as a good number of holes have water meandering a few yards off. The $5 yardage book is a great investment for the better player. |
