Benvenue Country Club -- Subtle test
Review by: Dank Lunton This Ross gem in "Remarkable" Rocky Mount is a beautifully laid out stacked hole course. You can see a lot of the holes you're playing from any point on the golf course. The greens are smallish and are generally sloped severely from back to front. The fairways and rough are well manicured, nestled between giant willow oaks and pines. The par 5's are all quite long from the gold tees despite the seeming short yardages. All 3 shot holes for me. The gold tees at 6600 yards are deceptively long and the course probably plays more like 6800 or 6900. Great course in a great town. Check out Central Cafe in downtown Rocky Mount after your round for the best burger and dog you'll ever put in your mouth.

Paschal Golf Club -- Good for the money
Review by: Jeremy Wrenn It's enjoyable to play, with many hills, some long par fives, and a couple par threes, a quiet stream, and lots of woods. The price is very good at under $20 for riding and it only takes half the time to play if you're only hitting 9. Or if you didn't do quite as well you can play those 9 again for a complete 18. The biggest draw back is there are no designated cart paths, and thus the fairways can sometimes be rather pressed down and ruts serve as cart paths (don't hit it there). However the relaxed atmosphere and pretty Wake Forest scenery make the course enjoyable. Highly recommended for beginners as this is a course that the average joe can play, at any time since there are no reservations. Saturday mornings tend to be the busiest time, but again with no reservations required you can hit at the practice range or putt on the practice green while you wait your turn.
