One of the most difficult courses I've played in a long time. We played from the tips-7100 yds, and it was all we could handle. It's setting is in an area called The Felicianas. An Arnold Palmer designed course, that uses the natural contours of the land to flow through beautiful old growth forests of live oaks and pine. Amazing elevation changes (*for Louisiana)that makes one second guess club selection.The greens are "Champion" grass and are extremely fast and difficult to read because of slopes, and the subtle nature of the few flat spots out there. We had no trouble getting on, and the pace of play was great-just under 4 hrs. I would highly recommend this course, it's the best "open to public" golf in the state, that I have played. Not to mention just how wonderful St. Franisville is. This whole area is a diamond in the rough... |
