Rancho Maria Golf Club -- Rancho Maria first time player
Review by: SLO Golfer Rancho Maria was a very fun course to play. Staff was courteous and helpful for a first time player of the course. Course was in good shape and the greens were fair. Will play it again. Good family course to play and reasonable in cost.

Brookside Golf Club - Number One Course -- The Good, the Bad, and the Thirsty
Review by: Bob M. Brookside courses #1 and #2, sit adjacent to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. First, the good: excellent course layout, well maintained. Courses require a variety of shot-making abilities. Some wide fairways, some narrow, par 4s vary in length from less than 300 yards to over 450. Reasonably priced (we paid $32 each on Friday morning). The bad: CROWDED. Because the courses are so popular, it always packed. My average round (fivesomes are allowed) is usually over 5 1/2 hours. Then there are the GNATS. They are everywhere! As far as The Thirsty, for 36 holes and all the golfers that can cover that space, there is ONE convenience cart running around. But, don't be caught bringing your own beverages onto the grounds. Apparently, management would rather have you starve or die of thirst out on the course than to enlist a second cart to run around selling food items and making the golf course more money!
