| Valley Gardens Golf Course -- Great Practice Rounds |
| Review by: Ray Swierczek |
Valley Gardens has been improved over the last few years. Considering the amount of play it gets, course is in above average shape. Par threes are as challenging as the fours. Best time to play - Saturday mornings, worst time, Sunday is agonizingly slow. Worth twice the green fees of $13.00! |

Stuffy course due to the attitudes of member golfers. Grass is cut so short as to create tight lies even when in the middle, straight down the fairway...cut to give advantage to only the purest ball strikers. Baranca invisible on most holes it involves leaving golfer ignorant of potential trouble until too late and leaving golfer overly reliant upon caddy's best efforts. Greens are pro-fast and well protected. The course is sometimes beautiful and sometimes looking like an average public course. Only real advantage is location and proximity to central LA. Has old school, prejudiced feel...members rarely show interest in even small conversation with strangers. |
