Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course -- Tough But Fair
Review by: Ty Mellott I have played Dry Creek for a number of years and it is still one of my favorite courses in the area. Once you play it you will understand as to why it was once listed in the top courses to play in California. A straight ball in most all cases will never hurt you, and this holds true for Dry Creek. However, if you are able to work the ball in Both Directions... you will find even the toughest of holes very receptive. Some of my favorite holes are #13. A fairly long dogleg right par 4 that has a huge Old Oak guarding the left side of the Green. A few years back they decided to give us a break and enlarge the green, although it is easier than before don’t let the size of the green build your confidence too much as this is a hole that will surly bite you if not given it’s due respect. Number 15… which is a long dogleg left par 4 with OB left and hazard right. Number 18 dogleg left par 4 that plays 437 where you are left with an approach to a green that is slightly elevated and usually into the wind. Did I mention the creek that spans some 50 yards running right in front of the green? A four here will feel like a birdie!!! This is a course that has plenty of character and quite the find for such a reasonable price. I play it when ever I can and have recomended it to many.
