Shawnee Golf & Country Club -- Very challenging
Review by: Just a Golfer Played this course in May before all the rain and heat hit Shawnee. Course is long and takes good decisions on ball placement. If you stay in the center of the fairway, you'll do okay. South wind really adds strokes to game. No restroom or services after 9 holes but they do have a refreshment cart that is stacked really well. (This may change with the pool open in the Summer - 9th and 10th hole are at the "old" clubhouse). Clubhouse is very well detailed and serves good food. Watch out for the ribeye unless you are really hungry! That sucker is huge! Pro Shop has some good sales but regular prices seem high. Service is very good. HAd a good time and hope you do too.

River Oaks Golf Club -- Good new course
Review by: Allen Badgett I recently played this course as a guest and found it to be a good new course. I played on a windy day in the middle of the week. Check in was quick and efficient. We had time for a warm up at the small but nice driving range. The course is fairly hilly and most of the fairways are pretty tight. Accuracy on the drive is usually rewarded with a lot of roll. Wayward drives are severly penalized. I found the fairways to be very young and rough. They seemed very dry with spotty grass. The greens were good sized with consistent roll. They seemed to putt true for all 18 holes. For the most part the holes were well designed and will only get better with age. I enjoyed the course and will play it again
