Monticello Country Club -- *Golfer since June 2003*
Review by: David Halupczok	Highly enjoyable course requiring accuracy. Especially on the back nine where a slice/fade or hook/draw will necessitate the need for waders and extra golf balls. At the same time, the ability to cause a fade or draw will make longer drives possible on several of the fairways that make long gradual left or right turns. Be very careful on #17. It's an average length par 3 but, if you miss right, it's thirty feet down a steep slope across the cart path and into the river. A crystal clear river runs through the front nine where water comes into play often. One particularly narrow fairway is entirely bounded on the left by this river. My wife and I look for challenging courses and consider this to be one of the better courses in Central MN

Leawood South Country Club
"The place to be!"
Leawood is one of the finest courses I have played in years. The greens are smooth and the fairways are quick. Play this course if you have the chance.

Arrowhead Golf Course
"Good Course at a fair price,"
The course is decent in upkeep, not the greatest greens but a nice and challenging course at times with greens protected by bunkers in touch positions. Course management is a little on the off side, they have no control over how many are on the course, and will load it up way past capacity, as well as never using any marshalling to speed up play. Weekdays are good times to play because of the lessened Traffic

Saticoy Country Club
"Best kept secret in Ventura County"
SCC is the best golf course I've played in Ventura County. Surprisingly, it seems to be the best kept secret as well. While it is not as immaculate as Sherwood Country Club or Spanish Hills, it's layout is superior. #17 is one of the most exciting par 4's I've ever played - in both asthetics and difficulty. The golf course is mature with lightning quick greens. I've heard that Fred Couples went to Saticoy when preparing for Augusta. Every par 3 and par 5 on the golf course could be a signature hole anywhere else. SCC's strongest course feature is the use of elevation changes - no blind shots. There are only 3 or 4 "average" holes. It's not a surprise that the USGA chose it for US Open qualifying. If you get an opportunity to play SCC, don't pass it up. I recommend playing with a member who knows which side of the green to target. Perhaps in the near future, I will be lucky enough to do somebody that favor.
