California Golf Club of San Francisco

Featured Golf Course Review:
California Golf Club of San Francisco -- Best kept secret in Northern CA
Review by: Ron This course is a great challenge for any level of player. Due to a small membership it gets very little play which is one reason the course is always in great shape. Golfer beware of the tight fairways lined with old cypress trees and small but challenging greens. Even for the lowest handicap golfer, getting up and down around Cal's greens is not a easy task. It was built in the early 1900's with great courses like Olympic, Merced and San Francisco. It is a true golf club and not many golfers know about. A memborable experience from start to finish for sure.

Mariner's Point Golf Links & Practice Center -- Not Just for Beginners
Review by: HaywardGolfer This course is deceptive because it is so short. But the fairways are pretty narrow so your accuracy better be good! Being right on the Bay makes it a scenic course but there is also alot of wind all the time which is definitely a factor to consider. The main negative I have with this course is that for some reason there are alot of kids and pure beginners that come here. These kids and others know very little (if anything) about course etiquite and you better keep an eye on your ball after to hit it or some kid may "find" it and walk away! The driving range here is nice and big - mornings can be rough because you will be looking into the sun.
