California Golf Club of San Francisco

California Golf Club of San Francisco -- Best kept secret in Northern CA
Review by: Ron This course is a great challenge for any level of player. Due to a small membership it gets very little play which is one reason the course is always in great shape. Golfer beware of the tight fairways lined with old cypress trees and small but challenging greens. Even for the lowest handicap golfer, getting up and down around Cal's greens is not a easy task. It was built in the early 1900's with great courses like Olympic, Merced and San Francisco. It is a true golf club and not many golfers know about. A memborable experience from start to finish for sure.

Recreation Park American Golf Club -- Poorman's Riviera
Review by: Russman This is a great little golf course. Alway's fun and sometimes difficult, you go back in time a little while you're out there. It reminds me of Riviera (which I've snuck on several times successfully!) - maybe it's the types of trees and terrain. I mostly play the back nine on Saturday mornings but I've played the whole course many times and each time I couldn't wait to go back. Enjoy the "Poorman's Riviera".
