South San Francisco California Golf Courses

California Golf Club of San Francisco

California Golf Club of San Francisco -- Best kept secret in Northern CA
Review by: Ron This course is a great challenge for any level of player. Due to a small membership it gets very little play which is one reason the course is always in great shape. Golfer beware of the tight fairways lined with old cypress trees and small but challenging greens. Even for the lowest handicap golfer, getting up and down around Cal's greens is not a easy task. It was built in the early 1900's with great courses like Olympic, Merced and San Francisco. It is a true golf club and not many golfers know about. A memborable experience from start to finish for sure.

Soboba Springs Royal Vista Golf Course -- oddly challenging
Review by: Fritz Fashing This is one of the hidden gems in Southern California. I live in the Palm Springs area and yet I travel the sixty miles to play this course on a fairly regular basis. The low green fees tell the tale about the course condition. It is not the awesomely green, delicately manicured track you get here in the desert, but the natural beauty and interesting design make it much more fun than the bulldozed beasts you see around here. Playing from the black tees will give the vast majority of players all the challenge they will want. You'll use about every club in your bag and scratch your head when you bogey that hole that looks so easy to birdie. If you ever travel to the Hemet area, give this course a go, you won't regret it.
