El Cariso Golf Course -- Joe Golf
Review by: J Roehm A lot of good people playing and working there surrounded by a somewhat considerable percentage of people who are inconsiderate, ill mannered, have no idea of how to act on a golf course or even on the driving range. and just don't care about anything but there own entertainment at the costs of most others enjoyment. The course is average but does force you to use most clubs in your bag, a plus! BUT it does not seem worth the aggravation. Lost Canyons here I come!

Santa Teresa Golf Club - Eighteen Hole Regulation Course -- Pretty course great for novice and more advanced
Review by: Dave G. The front nine is mostly flat and circles the beautiful southern San Jose mountain valley. Not too tough for the beginner and requires some thoughtful shot placement for the intermediate golfer. The back nine travels up into a very pretty mountain area with overlooking tees as well as some tricky climbing holes. If you are out of shape, take a cart. These holes offer a bit more challenge than the front. The course has a very nice 9 hole pitch and putt course which is ideal for teaching kids. The practice area is also handily located next to the clubhouse. Play can be very slow on a weekend so get out early. Also, it can be tough to get a tee time so call early. They have been steadily raising the green fees, and I am finding $54 with no cart on a weekend to be a little pricey, but it is still the cheapest in the South Bay area. If you want better prices, go to the East Bay courses.
