Snag Creek Golf Course -- Nice Rural Course
Review by: RT After visiting a friend in Peoria, I asked if there was a course I could play on my way back to Chicago. His response was; "try Snag Creek, it's a nice course, not great but nice." Very true. The course is not terribly long, but does have some long par 4's and interesting par 5's. You arrive driving on a road with cornfields on both sides. Needless to say, I was a bit concerned, thinking that it was going to be a flat farm field dogtrack. I was pleasantly surprized to find some elevation changes and (dare I say) water. Yep, Snag Creek actually winds its way throughout the course and it does come into play. Number 7 is a very short par 5 that demands absolute accuracy on not only your drive, but second shot and approach as well. I used 3 wood off the tee and was lucky enough to be in good position for my next shot. This is a bargain of a golf course ($9.00 for 9 holes, $13.00 for 18; walking). Is it up there with Cog Hill? Certainly not, but the cart will cost you more at Cog.
