Throckmorton Country Club -- The Best Little Course in West Texas!
Review by: Anonymous This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"

Deerwood Club -- Play it if you get the chance
Review by: Katy Kracker When in good shape - and when isn't it? - this course is absolutely beautiful. Set amongst majestic pines, it is serene and peaceful... until you step back to the back tees. When you do, you had better be long and straight, although straight is by far the more important attribute to have - it's not uncommon to have the ball come back at you.

This is one of the finest tracks in the Houston area and probably my favorite of all of the Kingwood courses. It should be. It is the most expensive to join if memory serves correctly. The only private course I've played that is superior is Nicklaus' Carlton Woods. That course will make you want to go into debt! (Deerwood just makes you want to kiss up to a member.)

Great practice range and beautiful, old-school clubhouse will make you feel important if only for a few hours. After that, it's back to the land of swat-drink-wait.
