| Tupper Lake Country Club -- Tupper Lake Country Club |
| Review by: R. Curry |
This is a course which sits in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains and is surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and lakes. The first 9 holes have been reconditioned and are in very nice shape. The second nine are undergoing renovation and are in a less desirable condition but are coming along nicely. Flying insects are definitely an issue during late June through mid-August. Reasonable greens fees and a comfortable country club round this course off nicely. With all said, this course currently sits as a 2-3 star course with the potential of becoming a 3+ star course once the reconditioning is completed. |

IT HAS BEEN 13 YEARS SINCE I PLAYED AT BLUE HILLS AND I FOUND THE CHANGES IN THE COURSE SET UP AND THE CONDITIONS SIMPLY GREAT. THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY AND COURTEOUS. MY FAVORITE WAY TO PLAY IS TO GO TO A NEW COURSE AS A SINGLE AND SOAK UP ALL THE NEW EXPIERENCES FROM THE CLUBHOUSE TO THE 3 NEW PLAYERS I MEET AT THE 1ST TEE. AT BLUE HILLS I FELT LIKE A MEMBER AT AN EXCLUSIVE COUNTRY CLUB. THE FAIRWAYS AND GREENS WERE IN FABULOUS CONDITION. I HATE "TRICKED UP " GOLF COURSES AND I FOUND THIS LAYOUT RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF YOU. IT DEMANDS ACCURACY, LIKE ANY GOOD COURSE,AND SHOT MAKING ABILITY. I WAS HAPPY WITH MY 3 BIRDIES, WELL SATIFIED WITH ANY PARS, AND DESERVING OF MY BOGIES. MOST OF MY GOLF IS PLAYED IN ARIZONA THESE DAYS AND I FOUND BLUE HILLS A GREAT CHANGE OF PACE. ONE THING IS THAT THE BUNKERS COULD USE A BIT MORE SAND SO FOR YOUR OWN GOOD STAY OUT OF THEM. ENJOY IT ALL. |
