| Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club -- Stay Below the Hole |
| Review by: C. W. Sewik |
Although I played this course after a rye grass over-seeding, it still was a tough course from a greens management standpoint. The greens were fast and very sloped from back to front, making ball placement critical. I played the first and last nine, (27 holes altogether) and really like the final nine the best, as it was very scenic and the natural habitat was left quite pristine. I'm a 12 handicap and shot an 84, 88, the later round a bad putting day. The play was VERY fast (3.35hrs) and the pro shop top notch. The course allowed some errant tee shots without unfair penalty, but water does come into play on several holes, both from the tee and around the green. Overall, a very nice course for the money. |

| Lake Venice Golf Club - Third/First Course -- The wind make this course hard |
| Review by: Les Hemingway |
Not a bad course, easy to walk, pretty crowed in the winter, has some great holes on the second nine. Typical Donnald Ross course. The wind plays a part in the last four finishing holes on the second nine.
The first nine has a few good holes and again the wind can hurt your score here.
The third nine is ok and fun to play.
For the price you can't beat it. |

| Pelican Pointe Golf & Country Club -- Nice but not hard |
| Review by: Les Hemingway |
Keep it in the middle and play your shot. Don't take chances here. Some blind shots and some hard greens to putt.
It was better years ago before they built houses around the course. I played it 3 times and I play to a 15 handicap. Shot in 85,87,86.
Has some good par 3s |
