Westport Country Club, The -- *Adirondack gem.*
Review by: Wm McHone	My favorite layout in the Adirondacks, a course you can play 100's of times and never tire of. After a difficult first hole you are presented with good scoring opportunities on the front. Holes 10 thru 13 are as tough as they come and as scenic, they stick in the minds of golfers at every level. Take time to chat (or have a lesson) with John Hall, PGA pro and managing partner, I guarantee he'll be friends with at least one pro from your area.

Chenango Valley State Golf Course -- *Long, Tree Lined, and Scenic*
Review by: RC	A Challenging par 72 18 holes through the rolling hills and woods of upstate NY. Tight fairways lined by tall pines and large, undulating greens. Very good value in the area, < $40 to play 18 with cart. A tough walk given number of hills. Would have given 5 stars, but the par 3's are a bit weak. Beautiful place to play in the fall.

Golf Club at Cimarron Trails, The
"My review"
Cimarron Trails is one of the most challenging and exciting courses I have played in my lifetime of golfing. I would recommend this course to any serious and/or just weekend golfers. The first minte entering the spetacular and spacious clubhouse you get a feeling of something special happening. It smells like golf and it is golf incarnate. If you do one thing in your life as a golfer it should be to play at least one round at Cimarron Trails. Regards, Hugh

Only reason that it isn't 5 stars is cuz it's only 9 holes. Some of the best greens in the inland northwest. You will not always get a flat lie, but you will get a good lie because of excellent maintenance. # 4 is toughest short par3 around cuz of left to right sloping green. Get your birdies early or late cuz holes 3-6 are plenty for most.

Chantilly National Golf & Country Club
"Ball Striker's Course"
Chantilly is fairly open and forgiving -- wide fairways and large greens. But due to its length you cannot bump it around. Unless you play the women's or seniors tees, you actually need to HIT the ball to get around in a decent score. No sculling it off the tee and still having a decent shot at the green here. Even off the white tees, most players need to hit driver on 12 or 13 holes. The combination makes this rather traditional track a fair test. The turf conditions and greens are generally quite good. But the tee boxes could use work, and there are drainage problems on a few holes. This is not the most visually stunning track you will ever play. No dramatic dog legs or elevation changes. BUT it is a great walker's course. Fairly level, with greens and tees close together. Old style.
