This 9 hole course is the one to stop at for a pleasant break away from stuffy clubhouses and simple greens. I have been surprised every time with the placement of the pins and rewarded with the lie of my ball in this small but well groomed course. I recommend the White Pine 9 to the avid golfer, the complete novice and anyone who wants to be treated well, have a good time and appreciate the surroundings. The price is good, the guys are friendly and the atmosphere is outstanding! This place is worth the stop! |

| Shelby Golf Course -- Bad Course |

Shelby is a very bad course. It is a bad layout, with bad conditions, in a bad part of town (It's actually being "revemped", but that is irrelevant). The course is monotonous with wide fairways, tiny greens, and HILLS. It has a lot of HILLS. Did I mention HILLS? Many of the greens are "unputtable" because of sand and holes (besides the one white one). The course is also in a bad part of town. A couple of years ago, country music singer Vince Gill was mugged while playing Shelby. The only good thin about this course is the price. It is cheap. Well, you get less than you pay for. I would not recommend this course to anyone. |
