Rancho de Los Caballeros Golf Club -- recreational player
Review by: Barb I have played this course for nearly 30 years. It is always a challenge. It is interesting and can be quite trying in some of the winds that are often present. The couse is always in very nice condition, greens are true. My advice: stay out of the desert!

Ken McDonald Golf Course -- Solid muni course
Review by: Craig This course has forgiving fairways, but not easy fairways. By that I mean that you get away with a small hook or slice, but a large one causes problems. With the mature landscaping on this course, those problems frequently include trees. As I found out 3 times in one hole. :)) The greens were OK. They had just been sanded at the beginning of the week, and it showed, but they were still very playable. It was nice to see a muni course taking care of maintenance even during the summer. There practice area, including putting green, is large and very well kept. The pro shop was also decent. There is a restaurant on site, but I didn't visit it. The only negative was the typical one for muni courses - pace of play. Even on a Sunday afternoon in the summer heat, the course was full. The price was very good - summer rates were $18.50 for 18 holes and a cart. Actually, this was better than 'very good'. Overall, this course provides an excellent value - good course for a great price. I heartily recommend this course for all levels of players.
