| Review by: Anon | The newly re-designed Isleworth now comes in at 7544 yards off the 'Tiger tees' and yes this is where the great Tiger Woods lives and plays his golf. As of Feb 04 the course record is 67 by Tiger, the par is 72. A scratch golfer would do well to get it round in 75. The greens are beautiful but extremely difficult and they are all very well guarded on approach. It's a fantastic course in many ways; it's tough alright but you never feel intimidtaed (except par 3 2nd hole which requires an arrow straight shot between giant trees onto a small target from 240 yards, miss it and big trouble or a Lake Windermere awaits!). There are birdies out there but you must work for them, a course most standards of golfer can play but all standards would appreciate. The condition is perfect, the atmosphere is too and you feel special playing here. This is one of the best courses I've ever played - and I've played most of the best both in US and UK - you know that when you just want to stay out there and not come in! And boy oh boy is the clubhouse something else!!! If you're lucky enough. | |

| Sherman Hills Golf Club -- Unexpected delight | ||
| Review by: James Morris | Coming from Pensacola, I am used to spending $30 - $50 for a round of golf. Imagine my surprise when the pro shop attendant told me $15 included greens fees and a cart (we started after 12pm) for as many holes as we wanted to play! This course was equivalent to Marcus Pointe in Pensacola and comparable to the Moors in Milton, neither of which you can get near for that price. On Saturday morning, it was still only $20 and we got on right away without a tee time! The tees, fairways, and greens were in excellent shape (we played in July). Most courses at home are experiencing some sort of problem this time of year...This is a challenging little golf course and an excellent value for the money. There is a lot of OB so you must keep it in play, the rough can be US Open tough as well. The only downside I can express is that the greens were a little on the slow side. There are way too many positives (Cost, condition, layout, access, etc.) to let slow greens bring down my rating though. If you are anywhere nearby, this course is a must. | |
