Eastmoreland Golf Course -- course needs work in a big way
Review by: golfnut Eastmoreland is a great layout in really bad condition. It's an old parkland style golf course with lots of beautiful mature trees. You can gain a lot of advantages with working the ball off the tee. The problem with the course is that it has had some very serious greenkeeping problems. Last year the greens died (Fungus I think) and they are still recovering as of April 2005). The speed of the greens is slow and there are still a few spots where they have not grown back. The other serious problems is that the drainage is really poor in the winter. After a heavy rainstorm there are drainage problems serious enough that walking the course can be uncomfortable because you are sinking into deep mud. To summarize, the course could be good with the proper work, but it's not kept well enough to recommend. Go if you don't mind playing in poor conditions and want to look at a course with lots of potential.
