Oakmont Country Club "Tough but Fair" Oakmont is a picturesque layout in the foothills of Glendale with lovely mountain views. The course is an old-style country club layout which rewards well planned out shotmaking. The greens are usually very fast and reward players for being below the hole.
The Pac-10 Conference Championship was held at Oakmont in 2003 and only two players broke par (288) in a field of 50. The players found the par 3's particularly challenging.
The greens are very well protected with sand bunkers and the fairways are heavily tree-lined.
Best time to play Oakmont is in the spring and fall.
I find the twelfth hole to be the most challenging. It is a 420 yard par four, uphill and terraced. The green is long and narrow, two-tiered and protected by a large bunker on the right and a drop-off hill and trees on the left. ---Alan Amitin, Los Angeles, CA
Ravisloe Country Club "bunkers" i have played ravisloe many times the past years and i must say that the bunker improvements are a blessing. The powers at be have done a great job. --- mitch watson, chicago illinois usa
Panther Valley Golf & Country Club "Hidden Jewel" Beautiful and interesting layout that test every aspect of a golfers game. A relatively short course at 6800 yards from the tips with greens that are tiny and undulating.
A must Stop when playing the top courses in New Jersey ---Tiger Woods, Florida
EagleSticks Golf Club "Overrated!!!" September 2004..
Just an average course. Not taken care of like it was in the early 90's. Cartpaths nearly undriveable due to broken pavement and potholes. Several greens in poor condition. Sandtraps washedout. Overrated and Overpriced!!!! ---Richard Cranium, Ohio
