This military base has an eighteen hole course and two nine hole regulation courses. These courses are part of the federal government's recreational branch. In the 1996 season, the course was opened to Harford County residents. Their fees are the same as the guest fees shown. Plumb Point is an executive nine hole course, while Edgewood is a regulation nine. The green fees on the nine holes courses are good for all-day play.

Good Bang for the buck, Oct 06, 2004

This is a good course in decent condition. It is failrly flat and straight and also pretty long. I enjoyed playing here and would play there again. You must be a resident of Harford County MD to play there.

Top Notch Course for the price, Jun 29, 2004

A top notch course, with a friendly staff. Some of the white tees are too close; probably need some longer par 4's from the whites. Also, some of the red/white tee boxes need a lot of work. Greens are great, fairly slow but true. Fairways are in great shape. The single finest feature, though, is the quality and friendliness of the staff. You can't go wrong playing Ruggles.

Great old (50 years this summer )golf course. Straightforward-Long if you like but 5 sets of tees conditions are very good. No tricks no gimmicks--just good golf. Nice clubhouse..grille room & proshop brand new golf carts.

Knob Hill Golf Course
"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!

Del Monte Golf Course
"Del Monte -- Fun and touch -- old school"
Great course, classic layout, old style, just a wonderful golf experience. I've played Old Del Monte many times. It is a slightly shorter and yet just as fun older brother to several of the other Monterey/Carmel area courses. Oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River, it is close to the Monterey airport, close to hotels, and provides a wonderful, old-feel idea of what it was like to play on courses before big land movers shapped and sculpted the ground. It is fun to play, fun to hang around at the pro-shop/coffee shop. Just a really neat golfing experience.

"Good course"
It's a challanging course, also very fun, they also sponsor for the local high school so thats pretty cool. For as good of a golf course it is prices are reasonable.
