This old, traditional course is quite challenging. The small greens are difficult to read, and the tree-lined fairways are narrow. Walter Fovargue redesigned the course in 1921. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

Not a piece of cake, Oct 18, 2008
reviewer: Dave Clark from Yelm, WA USA
When you first look at the yardage you might think it will be a push over----not true. We go out there several times a year, it is a bit of a drive, 60 miles but worth it. The staff are great and we didn't see any one standing by the pool. It is an old style 9 hole golf course with 2 sets of tee's. We like to get there about 10 am and play the front nine, have lunch then play the back. It is a shot makers course, there are a couple holes a long driver might get close with a drive but don,t count on it. It is not fancy but comfy, give it a try if you are in Western Washington, we like it a lot, it is like golf should be, not in a rush.

The yardage is misleading. People just don't shoot low scores here. For the good player it demands positional tee shots and good iron play to shoot under par. A fair test for inexperienced players. Not tricky, just requires accuracy. greenside mounds and bunkers offer a challenge to the short-game

Decent course, Apr 22, 2007
reviewer: Scotty S. from Olympia, WA
This course is worth playing once or twice. It is very reasonably priced. However, it is a just an average course on its best day. You play 18 holes by just playing the same 9 holes two times. The pros, Kevin Lay and Ronnie Espedal are jolly guys, but they spend way too much time watching the high school girls in swimming pool during the summer. As a result of the management loitering around the pool, you'll often end up behind a slow foursome or even a fivesome.
