This eighteen hole course is links in style where the natural topography has been preserved. There are slight elevation changes on the fairways. The greens are average-sized and mildly undulating. There are two signature holes on this course, #7, a 465-yard, par 4, which features a dogleg fairway hiding the green from the tee area, and #12, a 158-yard, par 3, which has water protecting an elevated green.

The course is built in the sand hills. Many of the greens are difficult to hold unless they are wet. A plum thicket in the middle of a fairway and a square green are two of the interesting features. Definitely worth playing.

NEHGC is on the pleasant island of Mt.Desert in Downeast Maine. I live in Seal Harbor 6 mos. a yr and join the club as a seasonal member. The play is $255 and excludes June 26 thru Sept 6. It is by far the best deal on MDI and throughout the downeast region. The course is never crowded, and you can expect the service in the pro shop to be excellent. Beautifully maintained greens and fairways with the backdrop of surrounding mtns. and countryside make this course a well kept secret on busy MDI. Make a tee time after Sept. 30 to enjoy incredible foliage and ideal temperatures.

Indian Springs Golf Club
"Florida Panhandle Gem"
Indian Springs Golf Club in Marianna, florida is a hidden gem. Just golf basics and no fancy club, but friendly atmosphere and staff to go with a really neat golf course. Easy to get to from I-10 and rates are more than competitive. Highly recommend it if traveling through the area. As a former member, I look forward to returning for a relaxing no hassel round.
