This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The Red Course is the longest of the three and fairly open. The Gold Course has water that comes into play on eight of its nine holes. The White Course has water that comes into play on five holes and its fairways are tree lined. The club offers a twilight rate after 3 PM on the weekends.

Don't Waste your money!, Aug 06, 2005

My buddy and I played (or tried to play) this course on August 6, 2005. We made reservations in advanced. We were put behind several groups playing a best ball tournament. The starter told us to expect 15 minutes per hole maximum. It took us 1 hour and 15 minutes to play 3 holes. Golf is torture when the play is this slow. We decided to go to the club house to ask for a rain check. I have never done this in 35 years of playing golf, just to give you an idea of how slow it was. The manager offered us a partial rain check for the remaining 15 holes (ridiculous). We departed after a brief argument vowing never to return. The course is in very poor shape after a long hot summer. Perhaps the management would consider watering the grass and treating customers better.

Riverside Country Club
"Nice Course tough lies"
When you play this course be prepared to have a hilly lie on most fairway shots, especially on the back nine. The undulation is remarkable and this course gives an average player a run for his/her money. Mid summer the greens can be unforgiving, but still playable with corect club selection. Altogether a course well manicured and the added bonus of having a complete opposite feeling when playing the front nine and the second nine.

With it's many doglegs and elevation changes, this course will quickly teach the beginners how to setup their approaches, while giving the lower handicap players a reasonably challenging round. 5 of the first nine pins cannot be seen from the tees. If you spray your tee shots, you will surely be struggling to make par. The par threes are deceiving with two short downhills, and two 150-ish up hills. These have been my achilles heel. There are not to many water hazzards, but they are well/poorly place depending on your tendancies. They can easily swallow your ball if your not carefull. The traps are typically limited to wrapping the greens, but watch out for the 5th hole, with its deceiving horizontal sand at 230 yards out. The grounds are well kept with mid speed greens that exactly match the practice green. Prepare for an even mix of wide and narrow fairways, and many misleading doglegs, both slight and sharp. This course has made me a better golfer, and I can't say that about many. Enjoy!

FRONT 9 HAS HILS WATER AND TRAPS WELL TAKEN CARE OF. RIVER RUNS THROUGH FRONT 9 WITH PONDS AND TIMBERS. BACK 9 PRETTY FLATT WITH NARROW FAIRWAYS. A COUPLE OF CREAKS, PONDS, WOODS AND NARROW FAIRWAYS TO DEAL WITH. MAPLEWOOD HAS A TWO TEAR DRIVING RANGE, PRACTICE GREEN, RESTRANT AND FULL BAR AND PARTY ROOMS. FREINDLY SERVICE WITH A REFRESHIMENT CART THAT RUNS ON THE COURSE FOR NEEDED DRINKS.
