This is a primarily flat course, but there is some mounding which can cause uneven lies. The fairways are narrow because of the trees lining them, and water hazards come into play on a couple holes. This course is cheap but you get what you pay for. I couldn't tell where the fairways ended and the rough began. good for beginners.

I HAVE BEEN PLAYING ROSE RIDGE FOR 25 YEARS,THE COURSE ITSELF IS BASIC,NO SAND ETC. THE PROPERTY IS GORGEOUS,GREAT ALMOST MAJESTIC VIEWS. EASY AS IT GOES,LENNY AND STAFF ARE EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE.

I golf at Rose Ridge once each year. The staff there are very nice. The club house is more like a garage than a club house. The course is flat, and really gets trampled down and hard during the peak season.

This is a good course to teach tour kids how to golf, because it is a moderately short course. I took my 8 year old son golfing there, and he shot a 58! Not too bad for his first time out, and he had a blast!We have been back twice and can't wait for sping to go again.

Perry Golf & Country Club
"Best kept secret in central Iowa"
With rolling hills and mature trees, Perry G&CC is an aesthetically pleasing, yet challenging course. A beautiful pond surrounded by wildflowers is in play on the # 2 and 3 holes. Greens are in fine shape and medium fast. Accuracy off the tee is important because of the trees and some uneven lies. Although it is a private club, green fees for non-residents are easily accessible and very affordable. Carts available. The clubhouse staff is friendly and accommodating. Well worth your time and money.

Knob Hill Golf Course
"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!
