This course, built on rolling terrain, features a mixture of hardwood and pine trees lining its narrow fairways. No blind shots are required, and the greens are gently rolling and medium-sized. Water hazards (lakes, creeks, ponds, and streams) come into play on twelve holes. The signature hole is #17, a par 4, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee, then an approach shot over water to an island green. During the weekdays, the pro shop opens at 8 AM, and the earliest call for a tee reservation can't be made until 9 AM.

Some old guy came up complaining about being in a tournament and inquired where we came from. He seemed to think he owned the joint. Hope he likes how slow our game went from that point on. Too bad he didnt crash his golf cart.

Marshall Canyon Golf Club
"Trickier than you think and don't EVER walk."
Marshall Canyon is a fun course with some quirky holes but for the most part it is pretty fair. The greens are trickier than you think and there are some hole placements that totally suck if you get above the hole. It is a hilly course that you don't want to walk unless you are in very good walking shape. All in all, it is a good course with a decent price.

Knob Hill Golf Course
"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!

Rancho Sierra Golf Club
"New golf course that is fun to play"
Good condition, straight forward and fun to play. Plays shorter than the yardage and the ball tends to feed towards the fairways. Greens are very nice. It is an enjoyable experience and a pretty place to play. I recommend it to anyone heading to California's Antelope Valley.
