• North Shore Country Club
  "Great Bay Side Holes, and Tough"
  Play this in the wind and you'll find your handicap is a little too low. Northshore is a wonderful course with great bay views on the 4 bayside holes. And Don't miss the gator on hole 12, the cormorants on number 3, or all the other birds during the migratory months. In winter the rye overseed makes Northshore one of the best courses in all of South Texas.

• Bartow Golf Course
  "Golfing For Par"
  This Course is set out to have you playing for par rather than birdie. Tricky bunkers, well placed trees, and water make the Bartow Golf Course frustrating at times. Minor elevation changes enhance play as do friendly people. Give it a try.

• Clayton Park Golf Course
  "Local Hidden Gem"
  This is a fine local course for working on your irons. Even as a (60 year old) senior, I seldom use more than a 5 wood here. No sand, and water barely comes into play on one hole. Drastic elevation changes on the par 3 second and third holes. Course is wide open and wind can sometimes be a factor. Great for sharpening your skills before taking on regulation courses or for a pleasant 2 to 3 hours outdoors.
